Bed Bug Control

Bed bugs are small insects that feed on human blood. They are usually active at night when people are sleeping. Their bites are initially painless, but for some people, can later turn into itchy skin welts. While bed bugs are a nuisance and can be worrisome, they are not known to cause or spread disease.

Bed bugs can be found in many public places, including movie theaters, planes, and hotels.  Home infestations are increasingly common throughout our cities and the country. Anyone can get bed bugs and bed bugs are not a sign of dirty living conditions. Unlike cockroaches that feed on filth, the level of cleanliness has little to do with most bed bug infestations. Pristine homes, hotels and apartments have plenty of hiding places and an abundance of warm-blooded hosts. Once bed bugs are introduced, they often spread throughout a building. The bugs can travel from room to room or floor to floor either by crawling connecting heat pipes or via a person.

It’s a daunting task to eliminate bed bugs from home, office or school. They hide in many tiny places, so inspections and treatments must be very thorough. In most cases, it will be prudent to enlist the services of a professional pest control firm. Experienced companies such as CITI PEST CONTROL know where to look for bed bugs, and have an assortment of management tools at their disposal.
